Data Visualization is one of my day-day responsibilities. I roughly follow below process to deliver data visuals.

Requirement Gathering -> Create Events & Dimensions -> Data Visualization

When creating a report, I check my color palette, the report I use and the metrics-dimensions applied. I always focus on my reports to be simple, elegant and understandable.
